Resolutions and Retrospective

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I wrote on this little blog of my own. I was in computer rehab for Christmas, I hope you enjoyed Christmas as much as I did. Now that Christmas is past it's time to think of the New Year that is coming so fastly. First of all, New Year means it's time for resolutions, and I'll try to do my best to keep them this year.

1. Try to spend less money on clothes and things like that (unrealistic)
2. Try to make some clothes that I can actually wear with my brand new sewing machine :)
3. Do sports? I alwalys do sports so a different one? We'll see.
4. Learn a new language, German perhaps? ( I already speak French, English, and I have base in Spanish, yeah!)
5. Be happy :)

Those resolutions make me think of the past and I think it's the time to do the fashion retrospective of this year. Oh Mon Dieu, what a year! If we look in Haute-Couture I think that my favorite collections were Christian Dior and Chanel. One was very colorful and the other the opposite. One was avangardist and the other more classic. They still remain my favorites.

I think it's very difficult for me to choose for the best adds and campaigns, so I went on models.com, I think they made quite good choices. I do not agree with all but some are my favorites too.

Campaigns
Bottega Veneta F/W 2010. I love the posing. It's not my favorite but I think it deserve a place here just because of the artistic look. (ph: Robert Longo)
Givenchy F/W 2010. When I saw this campaign in one of my magazines it catched my eyes. The bright colours and the dynamic make this campaign work 110% for me. (ph: Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott)
Louis Vuitton F/W 2010. I love this collection, so I love this campaign! It's so classy and beautiful probably my favorite. Don't you want to buy anything that these girls are selling? I do. (ph: Steven Meisel, the master)

Editorials
Oh gosh. I had difficulties choosing my favorites! I chose those two, but I could have picked 50.
Star Signs, in British Vogue by Tim Gutt. I love this editorial, the poses are amazing. All the creative ideas are fantastic. Me gusta!
Water & Oil, in Vogue Italia by Steven Meisel. This one is absolutely stunning. Look at the details. I think that my credits for this one go to the photographer who did an amazing job capturing this.

Models

What a year. How to choose? I decided to take the favorite of models.com. This woman deserves her place totally. And the other one is my favorites, the new it-girl.
Lara Stone. It was her year. She was everywhere. She deserves totally this place as the number one model of 2010. Chapeau!
Karlie Kloss. The new it-girl. I think her Dior campaigns was fantastic, she's one girl to watch.

That's it for my retrospective. There's more to say about this year in the fashion industry, but I think that my choices are quite like what happened this year.

What are your resolutions for 2011??

Désirables et Extravagants

Well well well. For my last post I had an obvious thought about clothes from the past. But what about clothes from the future?? Mettalic and glittery (can I say that? Sorry for my English I'm French) are not the type of clothes I would normally wear but they intrigue me for sure. The wonderful Alexander McQueen was the master of futuristic fashion (I need to say that Sarah Burton did a fantastic job after McQueen's death!) and I needed to include some in my picks. So here are my favorite futuristic clothes.

Let's start with the dresses.
Christopher Kane
Versace.
The two dresses above are the general look everyone thinks the future will look like. Metals, bright colours, and space paterns. The Christopher Kane one is my favorite I think.
Alexander McQueen
I think that the thing with the future is that we'll always do something that's from the past. Alexander McQueen is my master and those dresses are gorgeous, but they make me think of the Russian Empire which is kind in the past.

Je veux des chaussures du futur (VOGUE Paris)
I want some futuristic shoes.
Raphael Young
Nicholas Kirkwood
Yves Saint-Laurent
Those shoes are marvellous. Much love!

What do YOU think the future will look like?

Retro Vibes

Hello there. Today I'm feeling kind of excited, because we have less than a week of school before the Holidays and I'm very stocked! So to relax I watched a lot of Cruise collections for this summer. Even if I'm very excited for Christmas I kind of anticipate next summer. Every collections is more beautiful than the other, but today the retro vibes of the collection of Louis Vuitton attracted me. I love this collection, the pieces are things that I would wear, and I love the colours and the general looks. I wish I could wear yellow and beige, but it's really don't suit me! So here it is :)

I love the mix of the old and the classic style. The glasses are my favorite thing of the outfit, and the purse I love it, like almost all Louis Vuitton one's.
I love this dress, I think the 3D flowers are really cute.

This flowery sweater is something I would kill to have in my closet.
It's actually the only outfit of the collection that has pants.
It's this most chic dress of the collection, and I love this colour.
FAVORITE. Je veux cette robe! French always know best! (I know Marc Jacos is not French but still!)

To all those still at school like me, don't give up it's almost the Holidays :)

I Want to Cover the World With Glitters

So, this week I watched Moulin Rouge once again, God I looove this movie it's so romantic. But this time I paid more attention to the costume which are totally gorgeous. I choose two from the movie, because I did not find pictures of my favorite. I love the corsets and the glitters that's why I picked them. When I was looking for those pictures, I thought of a couple of designers that I saw the collection a couple of years ago. The Blonds. Genius in the art of making the woman look gorgeous. I picked a couple of photos of their last collection Legends it's very cool, so here it is!

Moulin Rouge. The Green Fairy, and the gorgeous Nicole Kidman as Mademoiselle Satine. This costume was incredible I don't know how this woman did all this movie wearing such a thing! But still it's beautiful.
The Blonds. The glitters and glamour pros. I love the mix of the corset with the tutu I think it's quite interesting.

I love this jacket especially the colour.

For the hair. wow.

I think this one is my favorite. I would not wear it but I love to watch it ahah.

Thank you Kesha for covering the world of glitter it's way more funnier!

There Was a Boy, a Very Strange Enchanted Boy

It seems that I'm very into Dior these days. After watching Fashion Television, I realise that Dior Prêt-à-Porter SS 2011 was probably one of my favorite collection of the season. The sailor look I'm buying it at 110%. I love the colour and the lightness in the fabrics. I think it will inspire me a lot for next summer. I picked some outfit but it's worth it to see the entire show the whole collection is insane.

I love that outfit. I would totally wear that in summer even the hat.

I love those glasses. I have some that look like that. Same shape and colour but I have some fake diamonds on it.

I had difficulties choosing wich outfit is my favorite. Actually I don't have a favorite I love them all, but I have a little plus for that one. The purple and orange, the shape the lightness once again, well very very cute.

Here's the runway. Enjoy :)

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

Today, it was a special day, it was a no school day! Hooray! That means I can wear whatever I want and that's a good thing. So I had fun this morning dressing up for my little trip in Ottawa with my brother. It's only 20 minutes away but it's a good pretexts to shop. We decided to start our Christmas shoping, that's when I realise I have no idea what I'm going to give to my little bro. Anyways we had fun. Ottawa is definitely a good place to shop, and is absolutely beautiful with all those lights for Christmas.
Anyways here's what I was wearing today.
For the belt.
I know that the lighting is crap but it's the only mirror in my house where I can see my whole outfit. And by the way those 4 inches high heels are sooooo nice and high. I love shoes :)
New camis. Front. I love the print and the colours. (From Urban Outfitters)
New camis. Back. This zipper is so nice.

I'm wearing
Sweater: H&M
Vest: Used to be my mom's
Leggins: Sirens
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Suzy Shier

What can I give to 14-year-old boy?? HELP
